Introduction to the Committee and the Topic:

Humankind is about to enter into the second decade of the 21st century. In the past three hundred years, we have undergone unprecedented changes, and each individual is interconnected in various ways: a community of shared future is being formed. Looking forward, the technological innovations will inevitably bring about greater transformations which are destined to encounter some frictions; trade breaks down the barriers to create wealth but impair the vested interest group. When free trade is challenged by the war of tariff, when technology sharing contradicts with intellectual property protection, when globalization destroys local economy with a flood of cheaper goods…what should we view them? What institutional change can be made? How can we cope with it? The answers to these questions could have a far-reaching effect on our future.
